Ishtar SK Bioactive 2.5% Retinol Serum (30ml)

Product Maker Says: Retinol, the purest and most active form of vitamin A, sustains collagen, reduces wrinkles and improves skin texture. This serum uses RovisomeTM technology to encapuslate retinol in a biocompatible natural membrane. The retinol molecule retains potency and reaches deeper skin layers for improved results. In comparison, products using unencapsulated retinol lose more than 50% active molecules within a month of manufacture.

Nat Says: Bloody Retinol. It’s all everyone talked about from about 2017 - 2020, before we realised how potent it was and that throwing the highest strength on our faces and hoping for the best. I’m not sure whether you’ve seen the film The Toxic Avenger, but that’s what I looked like after diving in at the deep end with this ingredient. The first day after using a particularly potent retinoid, I’d felt that walked through the sun. Thankfully, Ishtar’s formulation blends 2.5% retinol with soothing Prickly Pear extract and hydrating Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans to support the skin. Still, it’s best to only use this last thing at night and always follow the next day with SPF50. I also wouldn’t use this in the same routine as vitamin C.
