With a blend of 60% propolis extract and 2% niacinamide, it skillfully manages sebum production while ensuring your skin remains hydrated. There is a record that women in the Joseon Dynasty used honey and grain powder as a wash-off mask pack to care for their skin. As a skincare ingredient, proplis extract is effective for hydrating the skin improving inflammed skin.Among the various effects of niacinamide, it is especially helpful in controlling sebum secretion and maintaining the oil and moisture balance of the skin. As a fat-soluble exfoliant, Beta Hydroxy Acid helps to remove sebum and waste accumulated in the pores.

Nat Says: I tried the mini version of this and other Beauty of Joseon serums a few years back, and this was without doubt my favourite. 60% of this lovely serum is propolis, is a waxy textured substance produced by bees to repair their hives for smoothing out the internal walls and as a protective barrier against external invaders, It’s liked by skincare formulators as it’s been shown to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Other fun ingredients include Betaine Salicylate, a BHA or Beta Hydroxy Acid, which lightly exfoliates the skin.

Good to know: Contains Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B which is loved for it’s pigmentation fading, barrier repair and anti-acne properties. Some people’s skin really doesn’t take well to it however, and report flushing of the skin when using products containing this ingredient. So best to avoid if this is you!
